GW Eye Associates Inc, An Optometric Corporation is an affiliate of TLC Laser Eye Center; this allows us to offer laser vision correction services, including LASIK, IntraLaseÂ®, PRK, and implantable contact lenses. These surgeries are offered for patients who are unable to wear contact lenses anymore because of factors such as excessive astigmatism, lifestyle, or dry eyes. We're also an affiliate of TLC Laser Eye Center here in La Jolla, and as an affiliate we are able to offer all the services of laser vision correction that TLC offers, such as Lasik, intra Lasik, PRK and implantable contact lens. Why do we offer laser vision correction when we already sell glasses and contact lens in our office? People oftentimes ask us that question, but the answer is there are many patients that are unable to wear contact lens anymore because of dry eyes or because of excessive astigmatism or due to their lifestyle. For example, I have a patient that is a lifeguard and she has a very high prescription, and she's unable to continue to wear her contact lens and do her job. We recommended laser eye surgery for her and she's been great ever since. Some of the tests that we'll perform would be a corneal topographer. We'll do a pachymetry reading which is a corneal thickness measurement as well as analyze your prescription, your goals, and your lifestyle.
